Shaq has been with Emerge since 2018, whilst studying Sport & Exercise Studies at Newman University. He has a huge passion for young people in which he engages in multiple platforms, including managing and mentoring students at Aston Performing Arts academy and working as a Pastoral Care Leader on the NCS programme. Shaq’s ambition is to complete his degree and teach A-Level and GCSE P.E. Working with Emerge over the past year, Shaq has been exposed to working with a variety of different students in which he caters his approach and sessions to help empower his students to their full potential. Away from Youth work Shaq enjoys singing and playing football.
Michael Stephens is a committed Father of Eight, who understands that it is not uncommon for lives to unravel through the simplest of life experiences. Michael has overcome his old demons of poor choices, Toxic friends, and self doubt to become a trained Integrative counsellor, Mentor and life coach who is committed to creating an experience in every young soul that uplifts and lets their community see their identity as something rich, unique and worthy. After completing his Adv Dip Psychotherapeutic counselling, Michael has pledged to continue to advance his education, so he can continue to effectively serve help and support Prisoners, schools, the homeless, and challenged youth nationwide.
Lemun is currently a Researcher with the University of Worcester Business School and a Visiting Lecturer at Birmingham City University Business School, UK. He previously worked within Recruitment and the financial services industry. He is passionate about working with young people and has been involved with different mentoring and Youth empowerment initiatives in the last ten years. Presently, he is part of a great team of inspiring mentors at Emerge Leadership, one of the fastest-growing leadership and empowerment organisations in the UK that is leading a movement of young people and leaders that are fulfilling their potential and changing the world.
Francesca has been mentoring for over 15 years and holds a Master’s Degree in Coaching & Mentoring. She is very passionate about developing effective leaders and supporting young people and students to overcome life challenges and fulfil their purpose, through reframing and being solution focused.
Paul Tucker has lived in South Birmingham with his family for over 20 years and has worked with young people for nearly 25 years in a variety of settings. For a number of years he was a Specialist Family Support Worker, using a Solution Focused Approach in helping to prevent family breakdown. His current roles are as a youth and community development worker, as well as an Emerge Leadership Mentor. He is passionate about encouraging young people to discover and realise their potential, alongside having emotionally healthy lives and relationships.
Natasha has recently graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a Biomedical Science degree and is a driven and compassionate ‘Emerge Leadership’ Mentor. For a few years, she acquired many different roles including District Youth Secretary for a cluster of churches in her home district in Birmingham. Natasha enjoys her role as Team Mentor or Young Youth Leader when she works on various youth programmes with large numbers of young people from different boroughs of the UK. Having grown up in a supportive environment, Natasha has seen first-hand the decisive role that encouragement and consistency can play in the formative years of life and wants to see young people animated with the freedom to dream big and equipped with the discipline to make their dreams a reality.
